Insurance Industry Veteran to Lead Next Stage of Growth

Futurity First Insurance Group, a nationwide, independent, career agency insurance organization, today announced the appointment of Michael Kalen as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Kalen succeeds Edward Berube, who will remain with the company as Founder, Director and Advisor.

Mr. Kalen joins Futurity First from The Hartford Financial Services Group, where he was Executive Vice President of Hartford’s individual life group, leading Hartford’s life insurance business to four consecutive years of sales and earnings growth. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Finance, a role in which he was responsible for enterprisewide expense restructuring and business development. He was also CEO of Hartford Life Europe which, under his leadership, posted significant growth in market position and revenues. Prior to joining The Hartford, Mr. Kalen held various senior positions at Prudential Financial, where he began his career in 1982.
