Our senior management team includes some of the most talented and experienced individuals in the life insurance industry. While our company is young, our management team is composed of a group of seasoned veterans with significant experience in life insurance sales and distribution.

Michael Kalen — Chief Executive Officer
Mike has 25+ years experience in supporting and building businesses in the financial planning and insurance industry. Previously, Mike led several business lines for The Hartford Financial Services Group where he was Executive Vice President of Hartford’s individual life group and CEO of Hartford Life Europe. He led the life insurance business to four consecutive years of growth and a market leadership position in distributing insurance through financial advisors and banks. As CEO of Hartford Life Europe, the company posted significant growth in its retirement division and it was recognized as one of the 50 Best Places to Work in the UK. Prior to joining The Hartford, Mike held various senior positions at Prudential Financial, as CFO for Prudential Preferred, head of the national insurance product network and estate planning, and agency manager. He is a CLU and ChFC and a board of trustee member of the American College.

Keith Raymond — Information Technology
Keith has 25+ years experience as a senior information technology professional with extensive experience in financial services industry. Prior to joining Futurity First, Keith held the position of Assistant Vice President of Distribution Systems and Field Technology at MassMutual in the US Insurance Group where he was accountable for technology strategies and solution development for the portfolio of applications and technology services supporting agents and field offices across North America. He also previously held the positions of Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Trumbull Services, as well as Manager of the National Product Development for Kaiser Permanente, the largest not-for-profit HMO in the country at that time.

Mike Schulitz — Sales Development and Operations
Mike has 20+ years experience in the insurance and financial services industry, most recently as Sales Vice President in charge of life insurance and linked benefit products supporting their independent distribution channel at Lincoln Financial Group. Prior to that, he held the position of Assistant Vice President focusing on life insurance strategies. Mike also held positions at MetLife, Prudential Securities and Ivy Funds where he was the Senior Vice President of Institutional Sales & Marketing. He has his CFP certification from Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Margaret Audet — Marketing
Margaret has 20+ years of life and health insurance marketing and sales support experience with both career and direct sales distribution systems. She most recently managed Bankers Life & Casualty Company’s Field Marketing department with responsibility for prospect development, product implementation, agent recruiting and sales technology. Prior to Bankers, Margaret managed marketing activities at Colonial Penn Life Insurance Company.

Jim Carbone — Field Development and Training
Jim has 25+ years experience in the insurance and financial services industry in field development, marketing, and as an agent and branch manager. He most recently served as Vice President, New Venture Business Development at American General Life and Accident (AGLA) with responsibility for developing and managing marketing, sales, training and compliance to support a new senior market distribution channel.

Dan Chapman — Human Resources and Support Services
Dan has 25+ years of Human Resources and Operations Management experience in the insurance, healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, most recently as head of Human Resources and Services at Vion Pharmaceuticals. At Vion Dan was responsible for human resources, facility services and information technology.

Rob Inglis — Finance
Rob has 15+ years of experience in insurance accounting and finance. Most recently Rob was Vice President for Insurance/Reinsurance Accounting and Finance for Cambridge Integrated Services. Rob has also held positions as Director of Financial Reporting at the International Financial Group, Connecticut Surety Group and at the Hartford Life Insurance Company.

Diane Rochefort — Appointment, Business and Commission Processing
Diane has 30+ years of experience in the life insurance industry, primarily in the area of operations management. Most recently she served as Head of Life Client Services at Lincoln Financial Group. In that role she was responsible for the management of call and processing centers, billing and collections and claims administration in multiple geographic locations.

Todd Carlisle — Outside General Counsel
Todd has 15+ years of experience in corporate law. He is a principal with Sirote & Permutt, PC, a law firm headquartered in Birmingham, AL. Todd’s practice includes representation of a number of insurance distribution and financial services firms. Todd was formerly a founder, General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Highland Capital Partners.
