Edward Berube, President and Chief Executive Officer
Ed has 32 years of experience in the domestic and international life insurance industry. His executive roles have included President and CEO of Bankers Life & Casualty, Company; President of Conseco Insurance Group; and President and COO of American Life Insurance Company (ALICO), an AIG subsidiary. Ed began his career as an agent with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, and progressed through a series of field and home office management positions to become President of CIGNA Financial Advisors.
Thomas McConnell, Executive Vice President, Product
Tom has over 30 years of experience in the life insurance and financial services industry, managing broker dealer and securities sales operations. He served as President of New England Securities, one of four Met Life broker-dealers with over 2,500 affiliated representatives. He previously served as the President of CIGNA's broker-dealer. Mr. McConnell played a leading role in transitioning CIGNA / Connecticut General into the securities business. He has substantial experience evaluating, managing and negotiating with third-party product manufacturers.
Joy McConnell, Executive Vice President, Operations
Joy has 28 years of experience in the life insurance industry, managing operations, and providing sales and marketing support, and supervision to field agencies. She has served as Vice President and Head of Operations for Lincoln Financial Group's life operations, responsible for new business processing, underwriting, customer service, call centers, and claims administration. Prior to that, she served as Sales Vice President for CIGNA Financial Advisors and Vice President, Sales and Marketing for CIGNA Re-insurance. Most recently, as a consultant to Bankers Life & Casualty, she led a team that reengineered the company's underwriting process and another team that developed and implemented a turnkey new manager on-boarding program to support the career sales organization's distribution expansion strategy.
Karen Matheson, Chief Financial Officer
Karen has 28 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry. She served as Chief Financial Officer for CIGNA Financial Advisors and CIGNA Life Brokerage. Karen also served as CFO for Lincoln Financial Distributors, responsible for the financial operation and cost structure of this new wholesaling distribution company, the development of its financial and management information systems, the design of variable compensation programs, and the creation and management of its Compliance function.
